mrs-roboto's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 98 Degrees In the Shade Good lord it's HOT!!!!! It's so ridiculously uncharacteristic of Seattle to have weather like this. One of the reasons I settled here was to escape the oppressive heat of NYC summers. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of spending June through September in the Big Apple let me tell you, don't bother. It's hideous. If you do not have the luxury of A/C you will perish or at least be miserable. I can actually remember spending an entire evening jumping in and out of cold showers just to ward off overheating. Forget about sleeping, it'll never happen. Oh and definitely don't ride on the subway. It will undoubtedly be filled with very stinky people whose scent is only overpowered by the odor of the subway itself. What does the subway smell like, you ask? Urine! That's right, urine. Apparently there are many people who feel the need to mark their territory down there. And usually somewhere around Mid July some bright transit worker decides to flush the area out with bleach so you get to inhale both the toxic fumes and ...... well the other toxic fumes. It's swell. Well I guess I will go try to weather our little heat wave as best as I can. Does anyone have a recipe for Mint Juleps?
