She's Crafty!

After an entire afternoon of searching thrift stores only to discover that all the cool costume stuff was long gone, I committed myself to sewing four Brownie uniforms complete with sashes and orange ties for newly formed Troop # 666.

Working under pressure has always been my strong point and with just a few days to go till Halloween, I have plenty to do. There's my Ofrendas shrine that is only partially put together. This years theme is "En El Honor De Las Celebridades Muertas en 2004" and shall include pictures of Johnny Ramone, Rodney Dangerfield, Russ Meyers, Laura Brannigan, Ronald Reagan and Rick James. Speaking of Rick James, Pete spotted the creepiest Halloween decoration ever at Fred Meyers. It was a skeleton with long braids that sang "Superfreak" as you passed by. Surely this was manufactured prior to Mr. James death but sheesh, didn't anyone have the taste to pull it from the Halloween line following his passing (says the woman who thinks it's in good taste to post photos of the dead in her window for all her little trick-or-treators to see).

I also have to purchase and carve my pumpkins, make some bread for my altar, buy some mezcal, and start designing a prom dress for an 80's prom party the following week. So it'll be busy few days but fun. Gosh, I love Halloween.
