Phil Collins Gots To Get Paid Yo!

So yes, I was putting in my hour of training today when I happened upon the new Bones, Thugs, and Harmony video. Not familiar with BTH? Well the rap super group, made up of Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, and Bizzy Bone may only be the most influential rap quartet since New Edition. Mentored by the late Easy E, BTH knows the ways of the street. They fought for their lives on the tough turf of Cleveland (also home to Drew Carey so you know it's ghetto). They all endured stressful and painful encounters with women fraudulently claiming the rap group impregnated them. They even had to get their Benz's in that forest green color because the dealership was all out of the gansta white. Despite all that, BTH has managed to thrive. They won a Grammy and sold over 15 million albums. They originated the Mo Thugs Records label and made mad chedda. Yeah, they overcame adversity and persevered.

And who can relate to adversity and the struggles of the street better than Phil Collins? That's right, I said Phil Collins, former Genesis drummer, singer, and tambourine player. Born in Chiswick, London on Jan 30th 1951, to a fairly well off family, no one knows the tough streets the way Collins does. "Sometimes we went for days without figgy pudding," says Collins of his youth. "It was disastrous and emotionally crippling I tell you."

So it's really no wonder that Collins and BTH have decided to join forces. As the members of Bone know all too well, life sometimes brings stressful situations that cause people to test their faith. They address such trying times on “Home,” which features a well-placed sample from Phil Collins’ “Take Me Home”. Much like Collins’ music, BTH hopes people use this song as an escape, something fans can use to ease whatever stressors are causing them strife. “Sometimes things drain you,” Krayzie says. “You get tired of the bullshit, of arguing, of being tired of shit that you shouldn’t even be fighting for. Sometimes you just want to get away, go home and just chill, disappear.” "Word,"says Collins.

The video follows the Bones and fellow rough rider Collins through the subway stations of Paris (?), down cobblestone streets, to a large magical castle where the five are said to be currently residing all commune stylie. Sadly, this new video does not feature the group cavorting in a limo with an exterior hot tub as is the case in Collins original video. On the upside, Collins is sporting a platinum grill and flashing gang signs so that counts for something.

As we all know, my greatest passion in life revolves around mocking pop culture. This newcomer to d-land does a pretty fine job of it too. Check him out.

And finally, I'm thinking of doing one of those 100 Facts About Me like RDG . What do you think? Would that be interesting or dull as hell?
